Trethowans now operates out of six locations, with offices in Salisbury, Southampton, Poole, Bournemouth and Winchester as well as a serviced office in London.

The role

We are seeking a Marketing & Events Assistant to join our dynamic and friendly Marketing team in Southampton. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various marketing campaigns and events.

The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for

  • Event support: Assisting with event planning and execution and attend events to provide on-the-day support.
  • Networking calendar: Organise and manage the networking calendar, including arranging bookings.
  • Website: Use the Content Management System (WordPress CMS) to update the firm’s website.
  • Mailshot creation: Design and distribute newsletters via Mailchimp, including keeping mailing lists up to date.
  • Artwork creation: Creation of marketing materials and artwork using Canva.
  • Social media: Assisting with social media campaigns.
  • Internal newsletter: Compile news and edit the internal newsletter to keep employees informed.
  • Photography coordination: Coordination of photography sessions.
  • Podcast support: Supporting team members with production of podcasts.
  • Marketing administration: Handle administrative tasks such as arranging payment of invoices.

Requirements and experience

  • Experience/qualifications: +1 years previous experience in a marketing role, administrative role in a professional services/office environment, and/or a marketing qualification would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility and proactivity: Be adaptable and take initiative in your tasks.
  • Organisational skills: Ability to plan your time and manage a busy and varied workload.
  • Interpersonal skills: Confident in working with colleagues at all levels across the business.
  • Attention to detail: Strong written communication, proof-reading skills and attention to detail.
  • Creativity: A creative mindset with a willingness to contribute new ideas.
  • Technical skills: Previous experience using Mailchimp, Canva and a website CMS (such as WordPress) is advantageous but not required.
  • Driving licence: A full UK driving licence.
  • Travel and hours: Willingness to travel between our five offices when necessary and work outside normal working hours when needed.
